DIY Training Camp Day 6

I realized after I went to bed last night that I had forgotten to include my time and distance updates in yesterday’s post. If my brain is still functioning after uploading the (admittedly absurd number of) youtube videos in this post, I’ll put it at the bottom. I’ll put it up on the main blog page as well.

Another good day today, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Per plan, tomorrow is my last day of doubles. Then Friday will be a single to prepare for Saturday’s long swim. I’m really enjoying myself, even if it isn’t Croatia 🙂

I am eating like a horse and may be the first person to swim for 3+ hours every day for a week and manage to gain weight 🙂

I did a morning swim with Mike, and, with the exception of some uninvited jellyfish, it was one of the most beautiful swims I’ve ever done. Then lunchtime with Burak and Michel. Good day.

Awesome to see Mike again – he is always so great to swim with!

I know we’re going on and on about it, but it really was quite stunningly beautiful. Even more than the GoPro shows.

6:55 AM, 55 minutes, 58 degrees?, regrettable jellyfish (although not very painful ones)

I would remember this forever whether there was video or not.

I wish I lived at the beach 🙂

I’ve gotten pretty lucky with the weather… but that streak is about to end in lows of 34 degrees. 34 degrees! In April!!

The boys are back in town. Burak and I went past Station 1 and back in 40 minutes and then I carried on with husband watching for a total of 2 hours. Michel sped off like the speed demon he is. Water in the neighborhood fo 60-63 degrees. I did not get cold.

The kids get into the act. But the wind steals the show.

Good thing I put this here while waiting for videos to upload – it took 3 years and my brain is dead. Here are the swims to date:

51 m / 2700

5 h 10 / 20,000 – 6 h / 22700

1 h 45 / 5000 – 7 h 45 / 27700

1 h 15 / 4000 – 9 h / 31700

0 h / 0 – 9 h / 31700

2 h 5 / 8000 – 11 h / 39700

1 h / 4000 – 12 h / 43700

55 m / 4000 – 13 h / 47700

2 h / 8000 – 15 h / 55700 = 31 Miles
