Had a really good time at Falls Lake yesterday – perfect water temp (69), weather (72), and I got to swim over the course of about 3 hours. Though not moving by any means constantly, as I plan to on Saturday.
I’m starting to suspect a lack of accuracy in the FORM goggles GPS tracking. I’m pretty good at knowing my pace, and it just seems like it keeps coming up way slower than I would think. And with fewer yards than everyone else is seeing on their GPS. In the ocean it can be hard to perceive your actual pace, but in a lake I’m usually pretty good, and this just did not seem right when I looked at the breakdown of pace over time. I definitely had some sections that I thought were conservatively 1:15-1:20 pace that came up 10 seconds per hundred slower.
Wondering if it’s worth it to give them the feedback – since one of the best benefits of the goggles is seeing the pacing (and getting the distances), it would be nice to be able to have confidence in them.

It was nice to do actual open water workout-type things. Definitely something I’ve been missing in the adult world of “let’s get in and swim to where we are going and then get out.”

Note to self: It is May – wear sunscreen! Even in the morning!
