Yesterday was… tough. On purpose, but wow was it hard to get out of bed this morning. Not mentally. Well, also mentally. Yesterday afternoon’s test 100’s were 1:34, 1:28, 1:24. So better on the moderate, but not quite as much speed. That’s pretty much how the workout felt. I did another 4000 LCM – 8000 total for the day.
Then I went for a bike ride last night. Ugh! Theresa, my fellow hill-hater, ditched halfway through to go back with Stacey, whose insulin pump was malfunctioning. That left me with fast Rick and it was a tough 27 miles. We took a shortcut at the end because rain was a’ comin’, but it was a hilly shortcut that blew me right up.
It’s tough to get tough as nails.
This morning’s practice… existed. My test 100’s were 1:34, 1:33, 1:30. Eight seconds slower on the fast one from yesterday morning. I had no speed, but I made it through about 3600 LCM and worked on my stroke a bit, so not wasted. Plus I got to swim with KC, which was fun.
I’m back at it in 30 minutes – time to get ready to go. Ugh. Just an hour cause I’ve gotta go coach the Grown-Imps. And then a recovery, recovery, recovery, recovery practice tomorrow morning and I’ve got the weekend to try to convince my body we should do this again.
