As I write I’m sitting here waiting to find out if the person I was supposed to swim with at the beach is still up for it. Feeling pretty good about it either way. I got in three 1.5 hour swims this week – not enough to train for the Channel, but hopefully enough to start to get me in shape for my DIY swim camp at the end of the month.
Shoulder is feeling pretty good – I’m staying on top of it but not having to stretch/roll/tennis ball/theracane three times a day – that was insane. I really noticed this morning that stirring the new peanut butter didn’t hurt. I kept saying that my shoulder was just “dodgy” and that it wasn’t that bad, but now that it feels better (and that it took 2 months to get there), I think it was pretty bad. No idea really what I did, and I think it was a combination of factors, but I think a good takeaway is to take care of myself. And if I’m going to try superhuman feats, I need to pay superhuman attention to rest, recovery, nutrition and stretching/massage.
The Swim Was On
Mike was up for it and we had a great (and cold) swim. Even though only for an hour, I felt like I was really building the brown fat 🙂
Air 53. Water 53. God bless hot tea.
