A question that has been much on my mind – how does 11 hours in cold water compare to 3? Obviously I’ll find out the answer as I go longer distances in cold water, but it will be interesting to see if my previous experience and current (2 hour) abilities translate easily to long-term cold tolerance, or if there is a limit beyond which I’ll be starting more from scratch. I have utter confidence right now that 4 or 5 hours in 60 degree water on a sunny day would be absolutely no problem…
But that isn’t what I’m training for, is it?
And that’s not even getting into the fact that I’ve never swum more than 100 meters at night in open water.
