Cold air, cold water, coooooold wind. My lips were non-functional almost immediately. But the rest of me held up really well. Claw hands after maybe 45-55 minutes.

Apparently my hypothalamus places a lower priority on me being able to talk than I do.

Next week – DIY Training Camp! Exciting and terrifying!

Perceived temps: 53 water; 39 air. In water for 1.5 hours. GoPro out of battery. Yes, I held the phone vertically.
Thanks to Michel for his cameraography. The day was just as gray as it looks!
What is up with me and that face?? Is it the shape it is pulled into by frozen lips? Do I ALWAYS look that way when swimming OW? So many questions.

** NOTE TO SELF: My goggles did not capture the first let of the swim today. I might need to hold my watch next to my face right away to make sure they are not just paired, but that I am getting the GPS/pace readings.

So, call it about 4000 yards. With the wind straight in our faces on the last leg (bridge to Burak’s)
