Felt so much better in the water this morning. God bless yoga. Or rest. Or returning to a normal diet. Or not walking 8 miles a day. Or not changing times zones. Yeah, there were some challenges Monday 🙂

Good Times with JP and the TAC Masters

My easy 100 (LCM) was 1:33; Moderate 1:29 or 1:30; Fast was 1:22. Fast 50 at the end was :40. Haha such a distance swimmer.

Back to practice in a couple of hours and then a bike ride tonight. Cause that’s how I roll. Get it? Roll? On the bike? I crack myself up. (I’m sure, considering that The Good Place thinks that the first person to say, “I need a vacation from my vacation” deserves eternal torment, that “I crack myself up” isn’t winning me any friends.

Got an email from Jason Hoholis  â€“ Channel swimmers are such great people!

I’m trying not to quote directly without permission, but I’m assuming people won’t mind if I summarize their advice. (If you are reading this and you do, please let me know!). Jason swam a successful relay this summer with Paul Foreman as pilot. He advises:

  • Doing a swim with your pilot’s boat so you can get used to feeding and get to know the boat.
  • Generally getting familiar with swimming with a boat in OW (and at night)
  • He found it tougher on the day than in training
  • He recommends purely OW training “No pool silliness” haha
  • Like everyone, he offered to answer further questions, etc. Channel Swimmers are awesome!!!
