I’ve spent the last hour looking around the CS&PF (Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation) site and a website run by the Pilots (http://www.channelswimming.net) and I’ve come to the conclusion that this just could be possible. But ex-pen-sive!!! There’s a real decision to be made here, and I feel like it’s one of “do I let mere money stand in my way?” But of course, I’m not the only one affected here. A discussion with the spouse is in order. On the plus side, this swim dovetails nicely with my professional goals as a coach, so there’s reason to think of this as an investment. And we’ve reached a point where the money is available and won’t put us on any kind of a financial edge. I’m also making a mental note to myself to consider sponsorship. There’s always gofundme, as well as the idea of some sort of corporate sponsorship – Inside/Out or similar?
I emailed one of the boat pilots – I have not heard back from the pilot John suggested after emailing him twice, so I figured I’d give someone else a try. I definitely feel the lack of information I have. I so need to buddy with someone who has done this before. My English Channel Kelvin 😉
And that leads me to – I REALLY want to go on this English Channel training trip with SwimTrek. It is only money standing in my way. Decisions to be made…
