It seems really appropriate to thank health care workers this week. Their jobs do not often put them on the front lines in the way that this will, but they all know that it can happen, and they choose that every day.
It can be easy to get frustrated with health care in this country (as anyone who has every spent a morning being bounced between insurance and doctor’s office can scathingly tell), but the individual doctors, nurses, and their colleagues are smart, caring people who save lives. And who deal with pressures and outcomes that few of the rest of us need imagine.
So an enormous thank you to those who keep the rest of us safe, knowledgeable, and healthy. We truly appreciate your service.
